A Legacy of Faith: Honouring Our Patron and Leadership

07 August 2025

The school auditorium at St. Dominic’s School (CBSE), Bantwal, was transformed into a space of spiritual reverence and festive joy on 7 August 2025. The institution gathered to celebrate the Feast of St. Dominic, a day that holds profound significance as it honours the patron saint whose values form the bedrock of the school’s mission. The occasion was further elevated by the celebration of Manager’s Day, marking the birthday of the esteemed Correspondent and Financial Administrator, Rev. Fr. Sunil Christopher D’Souza.

Tribute to St. Dominic: Faith in Action

The programme commenced with a soul-stirring group song dedicated to St. Dominic, setting a devotional atmosphere. To bring the history of the institution’s patron to life, students presented a compelling theatrical skit. The performance vividly depicted the life of St. Dominic, highlighting his unwavering virtues of:

  • Deep-rooted Faith: Demonstrating a life led by spiritual conviction.

  • Selfless Service: Showcasing his dedication to the marginalized.

  • Compassion: Reflecting the kindness that the school encourages every student to emulate.

Leadership and Visionary Guidance

The Principal, Rev. Fr. Francis Arun D’Souza, addressed the assembly, offering profound insights into the school’s identity. He congratulated the students and staff on their identity as “Dominicans,” emphasizing that the recent Novena celebrations were not just rituals, but a period of character refinement. In a warm introduction to the Correspondent, the Principal acknowledged the vital role of leadership in steering the institution toward its goal of holistic excellence and adherence to high CBSE standards.

Celebrating a Visionary Leader

The celebration of Manager’s Day was marked by vibrant energy and gratitude. The highlights included:

  • Birthday Felicitation: A heartfelt tribute to Rev. Fr. Sunil Christopher D’Souza on his birthday.

  • Vibrant Cultural Display: Students performed a choreographed “Birthday Wishing Dance,” a colourful spectacle that added a sense of communal joy and festivity to the morning.

This dual celebration reinforced the bond between the school’s spiritual heritage and its contemporary leadership, inspiring the student body to pursue excellence with a spirit of service.
