Investiture Ceremony: Nurturing Leaders

The academic session at St. Dominic’s School reached a significant milestone with the solemn celebration of the Investiture Ceremony. This prestigious event marks the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council, embodying the school’s commitment to Discipline and the cultivation of future leaders. The institution believes that leadership is not a position but a responsibility, and this ceremony serves as a platform to empower students with the values of integrity, service, and accountability.

The atmosphere was one of profound dignity as the student leaders prepared to take their mantle of responsibility under the watchful eyes of the management, faculty, and their peers.

Procession and Induction

The ceremony commenced with a disciplined march-past by the newly elected leaders, led by the School Band. The rhythmic beat of the drums echoed the heartbeat of the institution—firm, steady, and purposeful.

  • Conferring of Badges: The Chief Guest, accompanied by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Francis Arun D’Souza, invested the School Captain, Vice-Captain, and House Leaders with their sashes and badges.

  • The Oath-Taking: In a moment of high solemnity, the student leaders pledged to uphold the honour of the school and execute their duties with impartiality and dedication, aligning with the CBSE vision of civic awareness.

  • Handing over the Flag: The school flag was ceremoniously handed over to the leaders, symbolising the transfer of authority and the trust placed in them by the school community.

Student Activities: A Spectrum of Holistic Growth

Complementing the formal leadership induction, the school organises a variety of co-curricular activities designed to foster Innovation and Excellence. These activities are integrated into the curriculum to ensure that every Dominican student discovers their unique potential.

  • Inter-House Competitions: From debating and quiz contests to creative arts, these activities encourage healthy competition and teamwork.

  • Club Initiatives: Various school clubs (Eco Club, Literary Club, Science Club) provide students with hands-on experience in their areas of interest, promoting a well-rounded education.

“Leadership at St. Dominic’s is about leading by example. Our student council members are the torchbearers of our school’s values and traditions.” — School Management.
