The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great pride and patriotic spirit at St Dominic’s School, Mariashram, Badakabail, on 26th January 2026. The school campus was beautifully decorated, and students assembled with great enthusiasm to honour the spirit of the nation. The programme formally commenced at 9:30 a.m.
The entire programme was confidently anchored by Grade 5th students Muriel and Gianna. The celebration began with a dignified Introduction, followed by a solemn Prayer Service seeking blessings for peace and unity in the country. A colourful Welcome Dance by the students added grace to the occasion.
The honoured guests were ceremoniously escorted to the dais by the school band, whose rhythmic beats and disciplined march created a majestic atmosphere and filled the campus with patriotic energy.
A warm Welcome Speech was delivered by Aashni, who extended cordial greetings to the Chief Guest and the dignitaries. The national flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest, Mr Peter Jerry Rodrigues, accompanied by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Francis Arun D’Souza, and the Correspondent, Rev. Fr. Sunil Christopher D’Souza. The entire gathering stood in reverence as the National Anthem was sung.
The Importance of the Day was highlighted by Ibrahim Mafaz, who spoke about the significance of the Constitution, democracy and national responsibility. This was followed by a vibrant Patriotic Dance, performed with synchronised movements and expressive formations that reflected the unity, courage and diversity of India.
The school honoured the Chief Guest through the Felicitation Ceremony, expressing gratitude for his presence.




















The first set of Prize Distribution was conducted by Teacher Priyanka, who congratulated and appreciated the winners for their hard work and excellence.
In his inspiring Chief Guest’s Speech, Mr Peter Jerry Rodrigues, a Kannada Rajyotsava Awardee (2025), emphasized discipline, respect for constitutional values and active citizenship. He encouraged students to aim high and serve the nation with sincerity while appreciating the school management and teachers for nurturing young minds.
A melodious Patriotic Song followed, creating an emotionally charged atmosphere across the campus.
The second set of Prize Distribution was conducted by Teacher Vidyashree, who once again appreciated the winners and motivated students to continue striving for success.
The Correspondent, Rev. Fr. Sunil Christopher D’Souza, addressed the gathering and spoke about moral values, unity and dedication. Another energetic Patriotic Dance captivated the audience with colourful costumes, spirited choreography and powerful expressions of national pride.
The Principal, Rev. Fr. Francis Arun D’Souza, motivated the students to uphold discipline, strive for excellence and become responsible citizens. A meaningful Skit presented by the students conveyed a strong message on national harmony and civic duties.
The celebration concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ahyan, expressing sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, teachers, parents, students, organisers and support staff.
Finally, the programme came to a proud close with the singing of the School Anthem, reminding everyone once again that true patriotism lies in living the values of our Constitution every day.
