Grand Celebration of the 80th Independence Day-2026-27
St. Dominic’s School, Mariashram Badakabail, commemorated the nation’s 80th Independence Day with immense pride, enthusiasm, and patriotism within the school premises. The campus was decorated with national flags and tri-color elements to mark this milestone occasion.
The celebration commenced at 9:30 AM in the presence of students, staff, and management. Mr. P Nagesha Bantwal, Ex Havaldar, Indian Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His presence served as an inspiration to all gathered, reminding everyone of the dedication and sacrifice required to safeguard the nation’s freedom.
The highlight of the event was the cultural program organized by the students of Grade 5 and Grade 7. The young performers showcased their talents through a series of patriotic activities:
Importance of the Day: Students spoke articulately about the journey of Indian independence, reminding the audience that freedom is a gift built upon countless sacrifices that must be valued, protected, and cherished.
Patriotic Dances: Grade 5 and 7 students presented energetic dance performances choreographed to national songs, evoking patriotic enthusiasm among the spectators.
Theatrical Skit: A short play was staged by the students to portray the values of unity, national pride, and the bravery of freedom fighters.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, emphasizing the core message: “Freedom is not free — it is the gift of countless sacrifices. Let us value it, protect it and build a better tomorrow.” He encouraged the students to remain disciplined, serve the nation, and uphold unity in diversity.
The event concluded on a high note with a sense of pride and gratitude. The celebration successfully brought the entire school community together to honor the nation and uphold the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotic pride.
