The spirit of sportsmanship and creativity took center stage at St. Dominic’s School as the PowerPlay Summer Camp 2026 was officially inaugurated. The ceremony, held in the school auditorium, marked the beginning of a season dedicated to “joy, growth, and new beginnings” for our students.
The camp was formally opened by the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Meckenzie Mendonsa OP. In a symbolic gesture of launching into a new season of learning, the ceremony highlighted the school’s vision of providing a refreshing environment for children to unwind after their academic year.
Addressing the gathered students and parents, the Chief Guest encouraged the participants to embrace every activity—from the high-energy sports to the strategic games—as a way to build character and lifelong friendships.
The PowerPlay camp is designed to go beyond just recreation. This year’s curriculum focuses on several key pillars of development:
Physical Fitness: Through Badminton and Skating.
Strategic Thinking: Through Chess and interactive workshops.
Leadership: Especially through the Scouts and Guides residential components.
Teamwork: Encouraging collaboration across different grade levels.
The opening was attended by the Principal, Correspondent, Staff, and Students, all of whom shared in the excitement of the upcoming weeks. The event also featured a brief orientation for parents regarding the camp schedule and safety protocols.
As the children headed to their first sessions, the school premises transformed into a hub of energy, signaling a successful start to what promises to be an unforgettable summer at St. Dominic’s.
A Grateful Farewell
The celebratory mood was balanced with a touching tribute to Sister Madhuri, who concluded her one-year tenure at the school. In a special segment of the program, the Principal and Correspondent expressed their heartfelt thanks for her year of selfless service.
“Her dedication over the past year has been a blessing to our students. We wish her the very best as she moves forward to her next mission,” the school management stated during the presentation of a token of appreciation.
